Tri-tandem roller of 1930, number 45655

About Us

When the tri-tandem was offered for sale some years ago it was too expensive for The Robey Trust alone to purchase and a number of 'Robey' enthusiasts raised the purchase price by buying shares in an informal Tri-tandem Partnership.

About Robey

There are currently 35+ Partners with shares in the engine and for which shares become available to purchase from time to time. The roller is kept at The New Perseverance Iron Works with the other Robey road and stationary engines.

The Robey Trust Ltd is the major shareholding Partner with over 40% of the issued shares and ensures that the 'tri' is insured and gets the appropriate boiler inspections and certificates.

All of the maintenance is undertaken by Robey Trust members, although not all have shares in the Tri-tandem Partnership.

The 200 Club

The 200 Club was formed in support of The Robey Trust, to raise funds towards the upkeep of the tri-tandem which is the only roadworthy engine remaining of three that were built.

Players in The 200 Club are allocated a draw number which is entered in 12 draws per year (actually three draws each quarter) with 40% to 50% of the draw contributions being paid out as prizes.

It costs £10.00 per entry - e.g. £20.00 will enable you to have two chances in every draw - and winners receive their cheques within days of a draw.

The 200 Club is not restricted to members of the Tri-tandem Partnership or The Robey Trust, - anyone can play and help keep this magnificent steam roller in roadworthy condition!
